About Giles Walker

The son of the owners of a small business, I am a comprehensive school-boy from what was a small coal mining town in Nottinghamshire. I studied sciences at school and Queen's University Belfast before joining Sky television as a trainee producer for their launch in 1989. Since 1991, I have been self-employed television producer, reporter and director, working mainly in live and tight turnaround situations, and am still working with some of my very first clients.

Needing a new challenge, I qualified as a barrister (I did not undertake pupillage, so am not registered) in 2009 and was called to the Bar at Inner Temple. I returned to work in the media where I now employ my legal skills in writing tenders and proofing contracts, alongside my regular production and journalistic work. I am also an advisor for the Citizens Advice Bureau, and sit on Admissions Panels for the LEA.
